MOUNDSVILLE — Acting classes for children will be offered on several Saturdays in February and March at The Strand Theatre in Moundsville.

Different skills will be taught to different age groups as described below.

Classes will be offered on Feb. 1, 8 and 15 and March 1, 8 and 15.

Class times for the various age groups are:

∫ Grades K-3 — 9-9:55 a.m.

∫ Grades 4-8 — 10-10:55 a.m.

∫ Grades 9-12 — 11-11:55 a.m.

∫ Grades K-3 Introduction to Acting, instructor Renee Storm

Unleash your child’s creativity in this fun and engaging class tailored for young performers! Through imaginative games, storytelling, and creative play, students will explore the basics of acting, build confidence, and develop self-expression. This class focuses on teamwork, communication, and sparking a love for the performing arts.

∫ Grades 4-8 Acting and Performance Skills, instructor Renee Storm

Step into the spotlight with this dynamic class for aspiring actors! Students will learn the fundamentals of acting, including character development, voice projection, and stage presence. Through exciting exercises, scene work, and group activities, participants will enhance their confidence, teamwork abilities, and prepare for live performances. This level is perfect for kids ready to explore their passion for the stage.

∫ Grades 9-12 High School Actors, instructor Shelby Garrett

This exciting 6 course is designed for students in grades 9–12 who are eager to dive into the world of acting. Under the guidance of Shelby Garrett, participants will learn essential acting fundamentals, including the art of delivering compelling monologues and mastering scene study techniques. Whether you’re dreaming of a future on stage or simply looking to boost your confidence and creativity, this course provides a supportive environment to grow and shine.
