WHEELING — The Young Musicians Auditions Recital was held in April at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wheeling.

Forty-four students who received ratings of superior or superior with honors during the Young Musician Auditions were invited to participate in the recital.

Visitors enjoyed piano and vocal solos from performers ranging in age from 8 to 18.

Judges for the piano event were John E. Rose and Dr. Angela Day for voice. Ohio Valley music teachers who entered students in this year’s Young Musicians Auditions included Anita Chops, Barbara Daly, Chelsey Keding, Kelsey McBride, Martha McLaughlin, Marie Parker, Paula Ring, Tonie Sivert and Janice Torrance.

Next year’s dates for the Young Musicians Auditions will be March 20-21 with the Honors Recital to be held on Sunday, March 29, at Vance Presbyterian Church in Wheeling. The president of the Thursday Music Club of Wheeling, Suzanne McCormick encourages all area music students and teachers to save the dates and participate in our 73rd Annual event.
