CHRISTMAS ORDERS FOR Pierogi and Cabbage Rolls are now being accepted by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4136 Jacob Street, Wheeling, WV. The church has Potato and Cheese; Potato, Cheese, and Onion, and Sauerkraut pierogi available. To place your order call 304-232-1777 and leave your order on the answering machine along with your name and phone number. The last day to place Christmas orders is December 11. The last day to pick up orders is December 18. Pick-up time is 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, in the church Annex.
THE MAGIC OF Christmas Tours return to the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum. Regular hours will be on Fridays from 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. Private group tours are available with reservations. For more information, call the museum at 740-425-2926.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE LIGHT-UP NIGHT will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 from 3-9 p.m. on Main Street in St. Clairsville. The event will include an ice rink, trackless train rides, live nativity, courthouse light show, vendor village, and Santa Claus.
JOIN THE FLUSHING Revitalization and Business Corp and the Flushing VFD for a Holiday Light-Up Night in the village from 6-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23. In addition to the tree lighting, there will be cookies, kids’ crafts, hot dogs, hot cocoa, and photo ops. Events will take place in the fire hall at 104 High St. in Flushing. This is a free event.
JOIN THE VILLAGE of Shadyside at the gazebo on Central Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 25, for the annual Christmas Tree lighting. There will be caroling and refreshments for everyone to enjoy from 6-8 p.m. Beginning at 7 p.m., everyone can enjoy hayrides and photos with Santa Claus, and kids can enjoy making a craft.
JOIN THE FIRST Presbyterian Church in Martins Ferry on Thursday, Nov. 27, for a free Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Eat at the church or enjoy take-out.
THE MARTINS FERRY Christmas Parade will take place on Friday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. Line-up begins at 4:30 at the corner of Center and 1st streets. The parade will travel from Center Street and end at the city park. The lighting of the tree by Santa Claus will take place at the city park following the parade. Anyone looking to enter a float/vehicle/apparatus or make a donation to the parade committee should contact the Martins Ferry VFD.
JOIN THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD Museum for a presentation by Civil War author and historian Daniel Dorsch at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. Copies of “Thunder and Song” will be available for purchase. The museum will open at 12 and close at 3. Enjoy a presentation and tour at the Underground Railroad Museum. Admission to the museum is $10/person and $20/family; the presentation is free to the public.
THE 19TH Annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Food Drive will take place Oct. 1-Nov. 30. Non-perishable items will be accepted and will be distributed to local agencies. SONS OF Italy Uguaglianza Lodge 754 hosts a dance night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the lodge, located at 3348 Belmont St., Bellaire.
A FREE clothing giveaway is offered on the second Monday of each month through November at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Clothes Closet, located at 56381 National Road, Bridgeport (Brookside) from 8 a.m. to noon. Clothing ranges from newborn to adult plus sizes. If you have too many clothes in your closet, attic, spare room or basement and they are in good condition, the church is also accepting clothes donations as well. Everyone is welcome. THE BARNESVILLE Pumpkin Festival Committee is selling seeds from its King Pumpkin winners from 2022, 2023 and 2024. Seeds from the 2022 King Pumpkin are available for $50 each through Dec. 31. For the 2023 champion, seeds cost $20 each or $50 for three. Seeds from the 2024 King Pumpkin are $30 apiece or $100 for a set of four. THE OHIO Valley Promenaders hold line dancing lessons at 6 p.m. and square dances and lessons at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the Bellaire Public Library community room. The group is open to all ages. While many of the Promenaders are seasoned pros, they are always accepting new members. Newcomers can jump in quickly, as square dancing is based on walking to eight counts and the caller leads dancers on what to do in a “learn as you go” fashion.
