Sara Jean Hughes and Nathan William Holzopfel were united in marriage, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m., at Martins Ferry Christian Church in Martins Ferry, with the Rev. Rod Kassler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hughes of Bellaire. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ron Holzopfel of Martins Ferry.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center.
Summer Kinney was maid of honor and Seth Holzopfel served as best man. Other attendants were Krista Kinney, Shannon Kinney, Leigh Ann Ingles, Brandi Conners, Ed Bell, Lance Rice, Kurt Bolock and Daniel Hughes. Taylor Bell was flower girl and Chanler Rice, ring bearer. Abby and Austin Cusick were program and guest book attendants. Connie Moore was organist.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Bellaire High School and a 2007 graduate of OVMC Radiology School. She is employed at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
Her husband is a 2000 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and graduated from Belmont Technical College with EMT/firefighter degree. He is employed as a firefighter for the city of Steubenville.
After their honeymoon, the couple plans to reside in Steubenville.
