Katherine Joan Welsh and Brian Richard Steele were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 23 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Wheeling with The Most Reverend Bishop Bernard Schmitt officiating.

Parents of the bride are Cassandra and Michael Welsh and the groom’s parents are Barbara and Richard Steele, all of St. Clairsville.

Molly Riesbeck was the matron of honor, and Matt Steele served as the best man. Other attendents were Christina Kesslar, Katie Kalkreuth, Tracy Davies, Julie Marschner, Suzanne Chami, Jeremy Rogers, Michael Welsh, Leo Welsh, Matt Baker and Mark Papp. Henry Riesbeck served as ring bearer and Stephanie Jingle, Marissa Welsh and Kristen Welsh attended the programs. Thomas Welsh and Leo Welsh performed as cantors and Matthew McTeague was the organist.

A reception was held at the Wheeling Artisan Center.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Dayton with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She continued her education at The Ohio State University where she earned her doctor of dental surgery degree in 2006. She is currently employed by Small Smiles Dental Center in Cincinnatias an associate dentist.

Her husband graduated from St. John Central High School in Bellaire in 1995. He is a 2000 graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He is currently employed as a senior project manager for Messer Construction in Cincinnati.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Aruba.
