Kelly Kaye Kulpa and Aaron Michael Smith were united in marriage at 2:30 pm on Saturday, Oct. 4 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral with Father Eugene Ostrowski officiating at the ceremony. Parents of the bride are Ted and Karen Kulpa of Shadyside. The groom is the son of Donna and the late Charles Smith of Wellsburg.
Darnelle Gavin was matron of honor and Jarred Lazear was best man. Other attendants were Laura Kulpa, Valerie Kulpa, Jenny Gavlik, Jamie Smith, Matt Matteson and Troy Meade. Kylee Woollard and Abigail Calvert were flower girls. Tavan Kulpa and Nicholas Calvert were ring bearers. Teddy and Matthew Kulpa, were ushers. Jody Gavlik and Christine Proulx Smith were readers.
A reception was held at the Wheeling Artisan Center.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, a 2001 graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor of science degree in biology, and a 2008 graduate of Elon University with a doctor of physical therapy degree. She is employed by Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, N.C. as a physical therapist.
Her husband is a 1995 graduate of Brooke High School and a 1998 graduate of Marshall University with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. He is employed by Litigation Solutions, LLC as a regional operations manager.
After a wedding trip to the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Burnsville, N.C.
