Lori Ann Curtis and John Robert Beck were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside. Rev. Don Perks and Rev. Randy Weaver officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride was escorted by her father.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Mary Ellen Curtis of Shadyside. The groom is the son of Sharon Beck of Martins Ferry and the late Herbert Beck.

Amy Curtis served as maid of honor and Pete Beck served as best man. Other attendants were Betsy Phillips, Jessica Barth, Meredith Meholovitch, Bobby Young, James Lasure and James Siburt. Katelynn Beck was the flower girl and John Robert Beck, Jr. was the ring bearer. A reception was held at Forest Hills Community Center in Bellaire.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Shadyside High School and a 2001 graduate of Ohio University with a degree in elementary education. She is employed by Martins Ferry City Schools as a fifth grade teacher.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a graduate of Belmont Technical College. He is employed by JAK Productions in Wheeling.

The couple will reside in Shadyside following a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Canada.
