Amber Nicole Smith and Derek Allen Edwards were united in marriage on July 3 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The ceremony was officiated by Monsignor Anthony Giannamore, uncle of the bride, and the Rev. Thomas Nau.

The bride is the daughter of George and Annette Smith of Steubenville. The groom is the son of David and Patty Edwards of St. Clairsville.

The bride was escorted by her father. Kayla Collier served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mia Ickes, Abby Molesky, Sara DiStefano, Julie Paul, Stephanie Mirch, Ariel Smith, Jodi Bodo, Chelsea Edwards, Jennifer Edwards and Megan Edwards. Kaylee Edwards served as the flower girl.

David Edwards and Michael Edwards served as the best man. Groomsmen were Tony Sabatino, Ryan Smith, Ron Thomas, Jeremy Murray, Josh Cusick, Brent Holloway, Andrew Capretta, Logan Ballint. Jonathan Ebbert and James Edwards. Braden Wanchik served as ringbearer.

A reception was held at St. Florian Hall in

Wintersville.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a 2010 graduate of West Liberty University. She earned a master’s degree in reading from Franciscan University of Steubenville. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Warwood Elementary School in Wheeling.

The groom is a 2008 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 2012 graduate of Mount Union University. He earned his master’s degree in educational administration from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is a history teacher and coach at Martins Ferry High School. Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple lives in Martins Ferry.
