Value City Furniture opens in St. C.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE Value City Furniture celebrated the grand opening of its new St. Clairsville location in the Ohio Valley Plaza with family-friendly events and prizes for shoppers.
The new Value City Furniture store, located at 50471 Valley Plaza Drive, St. Clairsville, officially opened Thursday in its expanded 35,000 square-foot showroom and mattress gallery. The store is situated in the Ohio Valley Plaza location formerly occupied by Goody’s near Lowe’s Home Improvement Store.
“Value City Furniture has a long history with the Wheeling market,” said Jerry Smith, executive vice president of store operations for Value City Furniture’s parent company, American Signature, Inc. “Our new location will better serve our customers’ needs, and we look forward to providing excellent customer service and convenience.”
The St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new business to the area on Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
“As always, the chamber is here to help area businesses promote themselves,” said Amy Aspenwall, chamber executive director. “As part of that, we are happy to be apart of today’s ribbon cutting and welcoming Value City to the community.”
Part of the continuing opening celebration includes Family Fun Day on May 1 from noon to 4 p.m., with events for parents and children. Parents can browse the latest styles of Value City Furniture’s quality, affordable furniture while their children are entertained at the outside fair. Children can get their faces painted with flowers, butterflies or their favorite animal, pick up a colorful creation from the balloon artist, pet different creatures at the animal shows, and enjoy tasty treats and refreshments.
“Family Fun Day is about more than celebrating the new location of our store,” Smith said. “It’s about celebrating the whole community and rewarding our loyal customers with a day of fun entertainment for the whole family.”
Previously, the store was located in at 102 Marshall St., Benwood, where it served the Wheeling community for more than 20 years.
“We are looking forward to working with them and helping them promote themselves,” said Charlene Moffo, chamber board member.
The St. Clairsville store is also offering a $1,000 shopping spree to one lucky customer who registers for the contest in-store between May 15 and June 15.
Value City Furniture is open seven days per week. The store or store manager may be reached by calling James Dodd at 304-232-9600. Employment opportunities are available, store officials said.
