Amanda’s Dance Academy opens in Cadiz
CADIZ Amanda Sabo is sharing her love of dance with the area and teaching others at the newly-opened Amanda’s Dance Academy.
“I’ve danced ever since I was 3. It was always something I wanted to do,” said Sabo. “It was something different I felt very connected to.”
She added that she danced at the University of Akron and taught at a Garrettsville studio before deciding to move back to Harrison County and offer lessons locally.
“I’m hoping I can lend my talent to help in any way,” she said.
She said the studio enjoys a convenient location in the center of Cadiz.
“Enrollment is over double what I expected,” she said. “I had assumed the response would be good.”
She offers a wide variety of dances including tap, Pilates, zumba, ballet and ballroom dancing. She also teaches creative movement for young children.
She teaches dancers from ages 2 years old and up. Younger students can received the benefits of coordination and socialization, older children and teens can gain practice for cheerleading and other activities, while adults enjoy the workout alternative.
“It’s a lot of fun,” she said. “It’s something that hasn’t been offered locally for awhile.”
Sabo has taken on a zumba instructor and she is interested in hiring a hip hop teacher and fitness instructor.
“I’m trying to find as many things as I can to offer the community,” she said, adding that she plans to participate in the Christmas Parade. “That’s our debut to the community.”
She also hopes to hold a spring recital in June.
