BELMONT – When a business can claim that it has been selling its products to generations of customers and that much of its staff has been employed there for over 20 years, it really says a lot. That is precisely the case with Doan Ford in Belmont.

“We’re an established business. We’ve been here for a number of years,” said Sales and Internet Manager Joe Miller, who has been with Doan Ford for 27 years. “A lot of our customers are repeat customers who come here year after year, generation after generation. We’ve been selling to grandkids of some of our original customers.”

Doan Ford was established in 1961 in Barnesville, and the business moved to its current location on State Route 149 in 1967. After losing the original building in a fire near the turn of the millennium, the company decided to stay in the same location and opened a brand new facility in 2003. It has always been a local, family-owned business.

Currently, Doan Ford has approximately 40 employees on staff, a large stock of new and used automobiles (including an indoor showroom), a full service department and a body repair shop.

The service department, as Miller explained, is fully equipped to repair any vehicle that comes off of the Doan Ford lot in the event of a malfunction, including computer diagnostics testing. The crew will service all years and models of Ford and Lincoln and has a warehouse to draw on for special dealer-only parts that cannot be obtained at typical repair shops. Thus, Doan Ford does a lot of part sales to other repair shops as well. The service department is also equipped to perform basic maintenance on any year and model of car, regardless of affiliation with the dealership.

Beyond the service department, Doan Ford offers superb salesmanship and a second-to-none body shop.

“We have employees that have earned employee excellence awards, which are based on customer satisfaction,” Miller said. “In our sales department, we’ve tried to stay really low-pressure. We’re not one that’s going to pressure you into making a bad decision. We want you to be satisfied and come back. We want you to be a continued customer.”

The body repair shop, like everything else at Doan Ford, is top of the line. The collision repair shop will service any brand and year of automobile, and consequently, it does a lot of work brought in from other businesses in the area. It is equipped with two state-of-the-art paint centers as well to ensure that your car looks like it was never in a fender bender.

“Our body shop was recently recognized as being one of the top body shops by Ford Motors,” Miller said.

Additionally, Doan Ford always has different deals and specials throughout the year. Currently, the service department is offering winter check-up specials and tire specials. For a limited time, you can buy four new tires from Doan Ford and get a $70 mail-in rebate. There is also 0% APR financing on certain models of Ford cars and trucks for up to 60 months.

“We run promotions in sales and service usually year-round. They change monthly,” Miller said. “Most of the new vehicles are running either rebates or discount finance or special lease programs. There are always things going on. There are a lot of coupons through us and Ford for parts and service, so there’s some savings there as well.”
