CADIZ – A new spa has opened in the village to meet residents’ beauty needs closer to home.

Sunkissed Hair & Day Spa, owned by Linda Little and Mary Carter, first opened its doors in

October.

Little said both she and Carter grew up in the area and that she had a barber shop in Cadiz for 18 years and saw a need among customers and a local niche that could be filled.

“We just wanted to offer new services and make it so they don’t have to go out of town to pamper themselves,” she said. “My customers were going elsewhere to get their nails done, going out of town to get a massage.”

Little said they saw potential in expanding barber services to spa services in a new location. She added that Carter brings accounting expertise and tanning experience to the

business.

Little said the spa offers services to men, women and children and serves special occasions, including proms and weddings.

The amenities include four stylist chairs, three tanning beds, two pedicure chairs, a facial room and a massage room. Little added that the spa offers facials, massage, nails, manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails and other services. Specials are held the first Saturday of every month.

“People we hired are excellent at their jobs. They’re getting rave reviews,” she said, adding that the business employs eight people, including a licensed massage therapist and employees experienced at providing facials.

The spa is located in a restored opera house roughly four times the size of Little’s former barber establishment. Little said the change has been welcome.

“The ceiling is absolutely beautiful. It’s worth coming in just to see it,” she said.

Little added that the business is becoming more popular and is doing well.

“We’re getting new customers every day,” she said. “Tanning is taking off.”

The business is located at 127 W. Market St. in Cadiz. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Tanning is available Mondays by appointment. For more information, call 740-942-9001.
