Mario’s offers finest imported pasta and more
WEIRTON — Rigatoni, ravioli, fettuccine, homemade spaghetti and linguini are just a few of the exquisite Italian dishes that Mario’s Restaurant & Lounge in Weirton has been serving for more than four decades.
Mario’s is a family business that was started by Mario DiCarlo in 1955 when he first brought his pizza making skills and keen business sense to Weirton.
It was in 1970 when he decided to venture out and open a family-owned and operated business that offers a variety of Italian dishes that include pastas, sandwiches, pizza, soups, salads, appetizers and more.
Mario’s also offers a variety of other menu choices including sandwiches such as the meatball, buffalo chicken, big fish and Philly cheese melt.
In addition, they still offer DiCarlo’s Original pizza by the slice or a round eight-slice white pizza with a variety of toppings to choose from. The calamari rings, jumbo wings, stuffed peppers, bruschetta and cheese sticks are a few appetizers on the menu that are sure to please the palate.
Today, the restaurant and pizza shop business, which has been passed on to Dicarlo’s son, Dan DiCarlo, and daughter Vivian Pagley, still offer those same tasty menu selections that have kept their customers returning for more than 45 years.
“Mario’s serves only the finest imported pasta from Italy and homemade dishes such as lasagna and veal parmesan,” Dan DiCarlo said.
They offer daily specials and their homemade lasagna is the special every Friday.
In addition, Mario’s has a separate bar and lounge area where customers can select from a variety of red and white wines, domestic and imported beers, craft beers on tap and order from the full menu.
Mario’s is located at 3806 Main St, Weirton. To make a reservation or for more information, call 304-748-1179.
