MARTINS FERRY– Signature Spa in Martins Ferry believes in the saying, “When you look good, you feel good.”

Signature Spa had its grand opening on Wednesday. Its interior features decorations and sweet smelling aromas upon entering. Members of the Martins Ferry Chamber of Commerce were there to have a ribbon cutting ceremony at the spa.

Amy Kelly, owner and licensed esthetician, takes pride in what she can do for others to make them feel beautiful. Kelly was a physical therapist for over 20 years and found a passion with skincare that resulted in her getting her esthetician license. She obtained over 600 hours of education on facials, waxing, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. Making sure people in the Upper Ohio Valley can get affordable, effective skin care treatments is important to her, she said, because everyone should be able to feel good about themselves.

“I’d like to help women and men achieve a healthier skin integrity,” Kelly said. “It is important to make them look and feel younger and beautiful.”

Services offered include facials, waxing, and spray tans. Kelly also sells many products at which tie in to the services she offers. These products can not be obtained online or at other retail stores because they are professional grade. Kelly said facials are her favorite service, though she has chosen treatments for her spa to fit most skincare needs. For example, the spa has a pomegranate facial that caters to those with oily, acne prone skin and a lemon zest facial for those with hyperpigmentation and melasma. There is also a bedazzle facial that improves hydration, inflammation and skin texture. A special microdermabrasion facial is offered which resurfaces skin by cleaning pores, decreasing sun spots, and smoothes fine lines.

“Our hale and hush facials are for those who have sensitive skin and have went through chemotherapy,” Kelly said. “Everyone should get to feel confident, no matter the situation.”

For women, the spa has waxing for eyebrows, upper lip, chin, full face, under arm, legs, and more. Men can get a wax service too, including nose, back of the neck, shoulders, stomach, chest, and back. There is a wax aftercare service that decreases ingrown hairs and redness.

Hours for the spa are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The spa is by appointment only and payment is due upon completion of service. For more information, visit signatureskincareandwaxing.com.
