ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- A longstanding business is back in the area, offering quality items for reasonable payments.
Quality Rentals has set up a shop in St. Clairsville. Paul Russell, district manager of the Steubenville and St. Clairsville sites, said it is fully reopened and officials are arranging a ribbon cutting at the new site, the former Thomas Auto dealership at 252 E. Main St.
"It does not look like an old car dealership at all. It took lots of money and time to get it to look like a retail/rent-to-own/store," Russell said. "We did business here for 10 years under another name of Blue Ribbon Rentals, and the former management, which is myself, decided to come back to the area.
"We know it's a great town, great people, and we wanted to help offer service that we know people need, whether it's short- or long-term or rent-to-own."
Russell said he was familiar with the area.
"We're thankful to be back around. We've been in business as a company for probably ... about 30 years in ownership in rent-to-own. I've been doing this about 16 years and served thousands of people in the Ohio Valley. We definitely under the 10 years we operated under Blue Ribbon I know we were very blessed. We had the best customers in the Ohio Valley.
"We actually sold to another company at the time, and we realized there was a lot of opportunity ... "
He said quality and options set the business apart.
"We offer the best rate guarantee, so we're always going to have the best price. In fact if somebody rents something from us and they find a cheaper rent-to-own price in the first 30 days, we'll refund the extra money and match that price," he said.
There are three staff at the St. Clairsville location.
"We're all home-grown. We're guys who are from the area. We're not from Pittsburgh that just come in to run a store," he said. "We're a Christian-based company, so we're always looking to help the community. ... We stand behind that."
He said community outreach is also part of their policy.
"We do as much as we can. Discounted prices for local businesses and local churches in the area to help them," he said.
A wide selection is available, including appliances, mattresses with a 10-year warranty, televisions, electronics and gaming systems. The store also carries an exclusive line of Michael Kors purses. The store offers 24-hour guaranteed delivery.
"If the customer doesn't want us in their home, we can do delivery outside on their front porch. If they still want that free installation, our guys wear a mask when they enter the home to help protect the customers and ourselves. We don't have a mask policy for the customer to wear because that's not mandated, but we do that precaution ourselves to help people have that peace of mind when they come to shop."
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The website is qualityrentalstores.com, and the store has a Facebook page.
