Opportunities at Cambridge Social Dance Club
CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — The public is invited to attend several opportunities for dancing in the month of May, sponsored by the Cambridge Social Dance Club.
On May 13 at the Cambridge Eagles on Wheeling Avenue, the band Little Rock will be playing from 8-11 p.m. There is a cost per person at the door, and light refreshments will be available including a cash bar.
During the club’s weekly lessons on Tuesday evenings, the first two weeks of the month will focus on reviewing basic steps in various dances taught during the year. Slow Dancing lessons will be taught the last three Tuesdays of the month. Traditional slow dancing steps are simple to learn and fun to use at weddings and other formal occasions, as well as in more casual situations.
Lessons will be taught from 7-8:30 p.m. with open dancing and practicing from 8:30-9 p.m. Beginners are welcome. Dancers are always given an opportunity to ask the instructors questions and to request advice on techniques.
Lessons are given at Mr. Lee’s Restaurant banquet room, located behind the restaurant on the lower level. The address is 2000 E. Wheeling Ave, Cambridge, Ohio.
During the lessons, dancers are given the opportunity to rent items from the club’s library, which consists of popular ballroom dance music, VHS tapes, DVDs and instructional and how-to books. Members are also permitted to check items out of the library so they can practice at home as well.
There is a cost for lessons, but that cost is reduced for couples who become members of the club. The first lesson is free if you have never been to lessons before.
