WHEELING -- Are you going to be a new grandparent in the near future or are you on call to babysit some adorable grandbabies? This is your chance to show your adult children that you have all the skills needed to take care of their little bundles of joy.
A brand new program, Grandparents Camp 2017, is set for Tuesday at the Ohio Valley Medical Center Nurses Residence Auditorium. As you know, things have changed since you had your children, especially when it comes to areas such as safe sleep and car seat safety. In addition to these topics, you will hear more about infant and child CPR, meet nurses, talk to a pediatrician and even play Grandparent Bingo.
Dr. Mackenzie Mincey, OVMC pediatrician and mom of three little ones, will be presenting information perfect for any grandparent. According to Mincey, "I believe a program like this is so very important! The truth is moms like me are working so much these days and grandparents are called on to babysit their most precious little ones. Advice on child care has changed through the years, and our goal is to make sure grandparents are comfortable and have the latest information available."
This program is open to all grandparents and any other family members who assist with child care. If you would like more information or would like to register for this event, set for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, call Sherri Kellas, women's health nurse navigator, at 304-234-8766 or email skellas@ovrh.org. All will go home with a free Infant/Child CPR Anytime kit.
