St. Clairsville-Richland City School District receives grant from Lowe’s

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools received a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for security purposes.

“We are thrilled to announce that Lowe’s has awarded the St. Clairsville-Richland City School District funding for the Secure STC Schools Project. Our grant application was based on the goal of improving security measures. We look forward to sharing the Secure STC Schools Project with the St. Clairsville community,” school officials said in a news release.

The Secure STC Schools Project allows the purchase of three additional keypad entries in the middle school connector building. Fisheye cameras will also be purchased as part of a security measure for the district. The project completion date is expected to be prior to the start of the next school year

“The safety of our staff and students is of utmost importance, and we are extremely thankful to Lowe’s for helping us continue to improve building security. They have been an outstanding supporter of our school district since opening, and it is our hope to continue that partnership for years to come,” Walter Skaggs, Superintendent of the St. Clairsville-Richland City School District, said.

All K-12 public schools in the United States are eligible for the Toolbox for Education program. More information is available at www.ToolboxforEducation.com.
