Clerk of courts releases report

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Clerk of Courts John Corrigan has released his report for September.

The auto title department collected vehicle fees and taxes of $748,260, with $32,249 going to the county and $716,011 going to the state. Miscellaneous fees were $4,005 and watercraft fees $319. Total fees and taxes were $762,848, with $36,574 going to the county and $726,274 to the state.

For the legal department, new cases filed included miscellaneous, 35; Ohio Department of Taxation, 73; certificate of judgment, 37; civil, 41; notaries, four; domestic, 17; criminal, 16; and court of appeals, three. Clerk fees paid into the county totaled $8,456.

The Rayland title office processed 698 titles with license plate revenue of $617. Also processed were 24 passports with revenue of $840.

The courthouse title office processed 28 passports with revenue of $980; recorded license plate revenue of $1,511; and saw a total of $36,474 in total auto title fees paid. The total revenue paid into the county was $38,602, with county total titles of 2,475.
