Gulfport presents check to Bellaire VFD

BELLAIRE — The Gulfport Foundation presented a check to the Bellaire Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $9,845.22 for the purchase of an automated external defibrillator for the baseball and softball fields in the village.

This grant will also fund the purchase of CPR and AED training aids so the fire department can hold CPR and AED classes for the public. The fire department has people trained to give classes for CPR and AED use but lacked the equipment to properly give these life-saving classes. Information on classes will be posted at bellaireohiovfd.org when classes are slated for 2020.

Gulfport fully funded this project.

Also the Bellaire VFD was able to raise $1,667 for the Coats for Kids program via the Ghost and Goblin 5K held at the Firefighter Festival a few weeks ago.

“A special thanks goes out to our sponsors and those that came to the race,” Lt. Raymond Penyak wrote. “Without your help we could of not done this. A special thanks goes out to Bill’s Towing and ICR.”

Lastly the Bellaire VFD is taking over the Bellaire Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30. If anyone would like to sponsor the parade and the after party for children being held at the DAV in Bellaire or be in the parade itself, visitbellaireohiovfd.org/bellaire-christmas-parade/.
