Yorkville to hold holiday caroling event on Dec. 15

YORKVILLE ­– The Village of Yorkville is holding its second Annual “Caroling on the Green” on Dec. 15.

Caroling wil be led by residents Fran Pearl and Marsha Chrisagis, with carolers from South Elementary School as special guests.

Festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. with a new activity for children, young and old.

The movie, The Grinch, will be shown by the fire department in the Fire House. Grinch punch and popcorn will be served.

Admission is free, but the fire department is asking that everyone bring in a cat or dog toy or treat to be donated to a local shelter.

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

At 5 p.m., an added feature will be a Christmas Sale by local small business vendors, featuring jewelry, novelties and decorations, books, T-shirts, hot chocolate and baked goods.

This will be a great chance to pick up special, last minute gifts.

At 6 p.m., the Finale will be Caroling on the Green, showcasing the new gazebo, which was made possible throught generous donations by Charles Betters and Associates of the Yorkville Itntermodal Terminal, local and former residents, businesses and friends.

Photographer, Patty Ann Lish will be available, beginning at 5 p.m. to take photos of interested guests, payable at the event.

This event is sponsored by the Yorkville Beautification Committee.
