Bridgeport students reflect upon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Photo Provided

Bridgeport Elementary School students reflected upon the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as they shared presentations during a Title I parent meeting on Jan. 23. Third- and fourth-grade students discussed the impact he and the civil rights movement of the 1950s and ’60s had upon their lives through researched reports, poetry and letters to King himself, speaking as though he were still alive to learn their perspective. The event was part of the Title I Parent Involvement Program, which was formed to help parents and even grandparents support their child’s education. Pictured are, front from left: Caden Bonnette, Gavin Hartline, Zaydon McNickle-Heil, Myzhara Jeter, Halayna McElroy and Aubriana Zawisa. Back: Jazmine Birch, Taylor Rogers, Olivia Harkness, Aidan Clegg, Jaydon Padgelek, Karlie Price, Logan Marsh and Laney Masters. Mason Menefee is absent from the photo.
