Robinson arraigned on drug charges

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — A Cleveland man facing first-degree felony charges of drug trafficking and possession of fentanyl-related substances was among Thursday’s arraignments.

Demarise Mandrell Robinson, 37, of 3711 E. 110 St., Cleveland, pleaded innocent before Belmont County Common Pleas Judge John Vavra.

Robinson is charged with one count of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and one count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, both felonies of the first degree, and one count of possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth degree.

His pretrial hearing was set for March 2 with a plea agreement hearing March 16 and trial April 7. His bond was set at $20,000.

According to law enforcement reports, Robinson was arrested in late September as a result of a drug investigation by sheriff’s deputies.

Robinson reportedly was arrested at a St. Clairsville hotel where he was staying.

A search of the room allegedly turned up more than 50 grams of the suspected substance.
