Buckeye Local homecoming is this week

The Buckeye Local High School 2020 Homecoming Court has been announced and this year’s royalty was crowned at a special event Wednesday. The queen and king were to be named during a Powder Puff game between female juniors and seniors at World War II Memorial Stadium in Yorkville. The evening began with candidates riding in a parade at the stadium followed by the royal selection at halftime. This year’s theme is “Enchantment Under the Sea” and queen candidates included, pictured front from left, Landyn Walker, Alli Helms, Abbey Young, Skylar Muldrew, Brionna Knox and Abbey Kinyo. King candidates were, back from left, Hayden Taylor, Brian “Bub” Palmer Jr., Tyler Donahue, Jake Mayle, Caleb Bonar and Danny Nation. Buckeye Local will play its homecoming game against Monroe Central on Friday but a dance will not be held.
