WHEELING — Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal again had the privilege of helping provide Christmas gifts to the St. John’s Home for Children in Wheeling.

On Dec. 11, Children’s Home secretary Amy Pramesa visited Kalkreuth’s corporate office to pick up the presents it collected for the children.

“More than ever this year, our local charities are depending on their communities to help give the children in their care a Christmas celebration that they otherwise might not have,” the company said in a release. “This year marks the seventh year that Kalkreuth Roofing and

Sheet Metal has been donating to the St. John’s Home for Children.”

When Executive Assistant Cathy Forsyth initially sent out a notice to the Kalkreuth team about what the firm was planning to do in its corporate and residential offices this year, almost immediately all the tags were accounted for from Christmas trees located in their lobbies.

“If it were not for the support of local companies in the community such as Kalkreuth, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.” Pramesa said, admitting that she had worried about what the holiday season might look like for the children amid a pandemic. “I know a lot of places are cutting back and seeing the generosity of those in our community despite how tough the COVID-19 situation has been on everyone, is truly amazing. …

“These kids getting to have a Christmas from the help of our community is the best present I could ever receive.”

Due to the generosity of its employees, Kalkreuth was also able to donate four huge boxes of toys to the Salvation Army, and the offices gave gifts to the Wheeling Catholic Charities

of West Virginia for 50 local boys and girls.

“We would like to take this time to thank all those who assisted Kalkreuth Roofing and

Sheet Metal in making these donations,” the company said. “Whether it was an employee, family member, vendor or tenant in our building, your contribution is sincerely appreciated.”
