ST. CLAIRSVILLE–The St. Clairsville Public Library now has free COVID-19 at-home testing kits available for pick-up.

The Ohio Department of Health purchased 2 million at-home, self-administered COVID-19 testing kits that provide reliable results in minutes. Gov. Mike DeWine’s goal is to make these rapid testing kits available and accessible in every Ohio county, and Ohio’s public libraries have been asked to play a critical role.

The library has received an initial request of 300 kits. These tests are self-administered, and people can keep them to use as needed. The testing kit works with an app that will show green for negative test results. The green test verification can be used in different scenarios such as students returning to college, work requirements or during travel. The negative results verification is good for seven days.

Test kits are distributed curbside from St. Patrick’s Alley at the rear of the library. Patrons are asked to call ahead to arrange pick-up. Once a kit is taken it is yours to keep and there is nothing to return to the library.

Although the at-home tests are self-administered, testing is guided by a tele-health specialist online. Any questions about these tests can be made to eMed Customer Support at 844-943-0061.

Any Ohio resident can obtain a kit through curbside pick-up only by calling the library at 740-695-2062.

The St. Clairsville Public Library serves 16,400 people in the St. Clairsville-Richland district. It is located at 108 W. Main St. in downtown St. Clairsville.

The library is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
