Two drilling rigs stand side-by-side at the site of two future OMNI Energy saltwater injection wells at the intersection of U.S. 40 and Ohio 331. According to OMNI Energy attorney Chris Gagin, work began in late March on the first of the two wells. It is designed to reach 6,000-6,500 feet in depth and is nearly complete. Some casing and pressure testing remain to be done. Drilling began late Thursday on the second well, designed to reach approximately 4,500 feet. Both should be complete by mid to late May.
