The Monroe County Board of Commissioners will recognize the National Day of Prayer at noon on Thursday in front of the courthouse at 101 N. Main St., Woodsfield. The Rev. Joe Hise of the Woodsfield Church of the Nazarene will speak. The service should last 30-45 minutes. The commissioners have noted the importance of the event, particularly during difficult times.
