Man detained at Army base in connection with shots fired incident
BELLAIRE — A man has been detained at a U.S. Army base in connection with a recent shots fired incident in the village, according to published reports.
The man who allegedly did the shooting on Noble Street on July 4 is a resident of the Ohio Valley, but apparently has been detained at the base in Louisiana.
No one was injured in the shooting, but apparently shots were fired at a home.
Residents took to social media about the shooting. Many at first thought the noise was fireworks popping because it was the Fourth of July holiday.
The Bellaire Police Department apparently is not releasing the suspect’s name.
Police Chief Dick Flanagan declined to comment.
