MARTINS FERRY — Owners of the M and C Boutique said they provide an environment where women can feel free to be themselves while they shop.
Christina Sipe and Mylissa Roberts, co-owners of the boutique, said people who come into the store as a stranger leave as a friend.
The pair said they are a woman-owned shop looking to empower and support other women.
Sipe said they are very passionate about clothing and their clientele.
Sipe said they aim to give everyone who enters the establishment a positive experience.
The boutique sells women’s clothing in sizes ranging from small to 3XL, shoes and accessories.
Sipe said they have something for everyone.
“We have tops, blue jeans, dresses, T-shirts, graphic tees. You can come in here and pretty much get any spectrum of clothing,” Roberts said.
The shop officially opened its doors in October 2020, although the pair decided to move locations across the street, reopening in its new shop in May.
The larger space allows for more merchandise and to hold activities such as paint and sips, which are conducted once a month.
Those interested in participating can sign up via the boutique’s social media or website — mandcboutiqueo.com.
Sipe said they chose to open the business in Martins Ferry due to a lack of clothing boutiques available in the city.
“We felt like it was something needed in the community,” she added.
In addition to a clothing shop, the boutique will soon have tanning beds available for those wanting to work on their summer tan in between shopping.
Roberts said the process has taken a bit longer than they had anticipated, but the beds should be available soon.
The M and C Boutique is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday at 23 S. Fourth St., Martins Ferry.
