Out of the Barn opens in Barnesville
BARNESVILLE — The village recently welcomed a new shop to the downtown area — Out of the Barn is now open along Chestnut Street.
Owner Michelle Laipply said she opened the store earlier this month amid the village’s Christmas on Main event, although she hopes to hold an official grand opening after the holidays in January.
The shop carries antiques, furniture, home decor, homemade crafts, candles, greenery and seasonal decor. Laipply said she also has a small boutique section with clothing, jewelry and accessories. She said she sells a range of merchandise, as well as some distinctive items.
“We have a lot of unique things. Right now, I have a sombrero for sale, so it’s kind of like you never know what you’re going to find when you come here. There’s a wide variety of items and we try to pick up unique things that you don’t see everywhere,” she said.
Laipply completely renovated the interior of the building to create a barn aesthetic, which she said helps to make the shop special. She said she wanted the store to have a barn-like appearance, which people seem to appreciate. She said she has received numerous compliments from customers on the shop’s style since opening.
Although she has only been a resident of the village for a year and a half now, she said she feels right at home. She also is grateful for the support she’s received from the community.
“It’s a great community. Everyone has been so welcoming. I’ve met a lot of really great people,” she said.
Laipply encourages everyone to come check out the new shop, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 112 S. Chestnut St., Barnesville.
