Pennyroyal Opera House kicks off the new year in style

FAIRVIEW — The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, Jan. 7, featuring Remington Ryde.

Formed in 2005, Remington Ryde consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Ryan Frankhouser; Josh Daniels, mandolin and vocals; Billy Lee Cox, banjo; Ron Truman, bass and vocals; and Stanley Efaw on fiddle and vocals. These five talented musicians share years of combined recording and performance experience.

Remington Ryde is firmly rooted in the traditions of the early decades of bluegrass and country music. The band delivers powerful musicianship and entertainment, combined with Frankhouser’s smooth lead vocals, which sounds just as much at home with a driving bluegrass tune as it does a tear-filled country weeper.

The opening band for tonight will be Cabin Fever.

The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.

The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
