IC Care recognizing Ohio Valley healthcare aides
BRIDGEPORT — IC Care will honor all Ohio Valley healthcare aides with free coffee and donuts from 6:30 a.m. until noon Friday at Just Jac’s Drive-Thru in Bridgeport.
IC Care provides non-medical home care services to help area senior citizens maintain their independence and dignity at home. As a home care provider, IC Care recognizes how important health care aides are in the healthcare continuum.
“When we think of the heroes of the healthcare industry, we often think of doctors and nurses. They are incredibly important, but the aides are often forgotten,” said Tate Blanchard, director of marketing and community outreach with IC Care. “The health care aide or nurse’s aides are the ones who provide the hands-on personal care for patients in every setting, and they aren’t always given their roses.”
At least once a year, IC Care hosts an event to recognize the work of Ohio Valley healthcare aides, regardless of their employers.
“On Feb. 4, healthcare aides, no matter if they work for us, another home care agency, hospice, skilled home health, skilled nursing facility, or hospital-they are welcomed to stop by Just Jac’s and enjoy a free cup of coffee and donuts on us,” said Blanchard.
In addition to free coffee and donuts, attendees will have the chance to register for prizes such as grocery gift cards. Coffee will be provided by Just Jac’s Drive-Thru, and donuts will be provided by the Holey Roller Donut Truck.
