Mead Township trustee elected to state association board
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ed Good, Mead Township trustee, was elected director of the Ohio Township Association Board of Directors.
The election was held during the 2022 OTA Winter Conference at the Columbus Convention Center from Jan. 26-28.
Good was elected to serve as a member of the 20-person board, which represents the 1,308 townships across the state. He was elected at the Winter Conference, which hosts over 1,700 attendees each year. The OTA officers are elected by trustees and fiscal officers at the conference, whereas the board directors are elected by representatives from the County Township Associations.
As director, Good will be instrumental in the association’s efforts to promote and preserve the township form of government. He will assist in managing the OTA, participating in such tasks as budget adoption, authorization of expenditures, program creation, the planning of a legislative agenda and other items.
Good has served as a Mead Township trustee for over 25 years. He also serves as the Belmont County Township Association Executive Committee representative. Good was first elected to the OTA Board of Directors in 2018. He previously served on the Public Relations Committee and currently serves as the chairman of the Conference Committee, which oversees the Annual Winter Conference.
Of his re-election, Good said, “I am truly honored to have been re-elected to the OTA Board of Directors. Providing a voice for our area on the board is a responsibility I take very seriously. Sharing our needs and concerns for the township form of government from a local perspective to a statewide view is imperative.”
