BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
At 10:17 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop near the Interstate 70 and Interstate 470 split in St. Clairsville issued a warning for a traffic violation to an Ohio motorist.
At 8:04 p.m. Thursday, a caller from Adolph Street, Bridgeport, reported it was possible that someone was breaking into her house. Deputies responded. Suspects reportedly left in a red pickup truck hauling a white trailer. Officials with the Bridgeport Police Department located the vehicle at Big Lots. Officers spoke with parties and advised this was a civil matter, not a breaking and entering.
At 6:45 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported to central dispatch that a couple was drinking on a bench outside of Party City in the Ohio Valley Plaza in St. Clairsville. An officer responded, but did not locate the couple, the report stated.
At 5:48 p.m. Thursday, a caller told authorities his friend has an active warrant out of Indiana and she just left the America’s Best Value Inn on National Road St. Clairsville on foot. A deputy responded, but did not locate the subject, according to the report.
At 7:56 a.m. Thursday, a caller stated they were trimming trees for AEP on Key-Bellaire Road, Bellaire, and a homeowner was there threatening to shoot them. Units responded, spoke with a family member and advised them to contact the sheriff’s office if there were any problems.
