Asbestos removal has begun at the unused Belmont County Habilitation Center as a first step toward demolishing the building. Work is being done with an Ohio Department of Development Brownfield Remediation Program grant of $897,460. The hab center is located on Hammond Road between the Department of Job & Family Services and Belco Works.
