Monroe County woman arrested on drug charges
WOODSFIELD — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman on multiple drug charges after law enforcement allegedly uncovered drugs and paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
According to a release, a traffic stop was initiated on a Dodge Journey driven by Amanda D. Caretti on Ohio 78 in Lewisville on Feb. 6.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Lt. Eric Yonley observed a small child in the rear of the vehicle. Deputies requested a K-9 at the scene to assist, subsequently leading to a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.
An interior search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting deputies allegedly discovering multiple items consistent with drug use, specifically crack cocaine. Items included cooking spoons, syringes, and crack cocaine paraphernalia. Also located inside of the vehicle were multiple open containers of alcoholic beverages.
Caretti was arrested and transported to the Monroe County Jail. She has been charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering children.
