At 4:56 a.m. Monday, an alarm was received from the Marshalls store on Mall Ring Road, St. Clairsville. The alarm was canceled by Vector Security.

At 9:33 p.m. Sunday, central dispatch received a call from a truck driver who pulled off along Interstate 470 eastbound near mile post 3. The caller was saying he was choked, and then did not answer any questions. Several officers responded, and an emergency medical service squad from Neffs was dispatched. The Ohio State Highway Patrol also arrived. While officers were arriving, the man called back, and it was determined that this was a medical issue.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported that his car had been involved in a hit-skip incident in the Kroger parking lot on Valley Plaza Drive, St. Clairsville. A deputy responded and took photos for a report. Kroger advised they would contact the sheriff’s office when surveillance footage from the parking lot was ready for pickup.

At 3:12 p.m. Sunday, a complainant from Church Street in Fairpoint called central dispatch and requested to speak with an officer in regard to issues at the Walmart parking lot in St. Clairsville. An officer responded and reported that this was a complaint of threats or harassment from a neighbor. The complainant was instructed to pursue a civil protection order, and the latest incident was put on record and placed on file.

At 3:01 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on National Road in Bridgeport reported that someone hit his vehicle Friday night, and he believed it was his neighbor. A deputy arrived and took information for a report.

At 10:05 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported that his tires had been cut again, and now his neighbors’ along Blaine-Chermont Road, Bridgeport. The complainant said he wanted to add this to his initial report he made on Friday. A deputy was dispatched to take photographs.

At 3:16 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported to central dispatch that there was some type of domestic disturbance happening at an address on Ferry Landing Road, Shadyside, then hung up. Upon callback, the complainant said there were no issues and they did not need a response. Several deputies responded. Upon contacting the complainant, she said there had been a verbal altercation between her and her boyfriend, but nothing physical happened. Deputies spoke with the boyfriend, who did not speak any English, according to the report. A translation tool was utilized, and it was learned that there was no physical altercation – just an argument. All parties had been drinking at a bar prior to the call, according to the report, which stated that the parties were advised to go to bed for the night.

At 7:47 p.m. Saturday, central dispatch advised that a dine-and-dash had occurred at Bob Evan’s at the Ohio Valley Mall, St. Clairsville. A vehicle description and license plate number were obtained. The caller advised the bill was $6.42, and this was a regular customer who also forgot her jacket at the restaurant when she left. The complainant advised that because of the amount, they did not wish to pursue charges. A representative of the restaurant said they will address the issue when the customer returns.

At 5:55 p.m. Saturday, a caller from Noon Road in Belmont advised she believed that someone tried to break into her house. A window was found to be open, and there was blood on the window. She said she believed her dogs may have bitten a person. An officer arrived and determined that no one had broken into the residence. However, the dog had broken out of the residence, and the blood was from the dog’s mouth being cut on a plastic window frame, according to the report.

At 2:35 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported his daughter’s tires were slashed overnight at an address on Little McMahon Creek Road in Richland Township. An officer arrived on the scene and found no slashed tires, but the complainant advised the tires had been repaired. The complainant advised they had been having problems with vandalism lately. They requested additional patrols in the area. Security cameras were being installed, according to the report.

At 8:58 a.m. Friday, a caller from a business on National Road, Bridgeport, advised that after an employee showed up for work, her boyfriend showed up and punched her in the face. Deputies were dispatched. The female refused EMS. The male was located walking and was detained. Leslie Charles Sproul of Lafferty was booked into the Belmont County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.

Cassandra Marie Cominsky, 21, of 914 S. 10th St., Martins Ferry was cited Saturday for fictitious plates and fined $184.

Andrew E. Shrock, 19, of1002 Jefferson St., Bergholz was cited Saturday for speeding, traveling 67 mph in a 50 mph zone. He was fined $149.

Anthony Paul Kleinelder, 21, of 972 Short McGraws Run Road, Valley Grove, West Virginia, was cited Saturday for expired registration and fined $124.
