ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- JB Green Team is sponsoring the annual Community Cleanups in coordination with the Belmont County township trustees.
All 2023 Belmont County Community Cleanup collections are held on Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Residents of both Belmont and Jefferson counties are welcome to participate and may attend any scheduled collection.
Residents are invited to bring most old household junk, appliances, fixtures, furniture, lawn furniture and equipment, riding and climbing toys, carpeting, car batteries, foam packing, mirrors, dishes, glassware, plastic buckets, trash cans, etc. All loose items should be boxed or bagged to help process everyone through the line in a timely manner.
JB Green Team has stopped taking household batteries at community cleanups. Batteries will be accepted during the Household Hazardous Waste collection on Sept. 23.
Tires will not be accepted at community cleanups. A special Tire Recycling Only collection will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24 at the Belmont County Fairgrounds. Tires must be off the rim, and the Environmental Protection Agency 10-tire limit per vehicle will be enforced. Tire recycling is provided for standard size car and light truck tires only; no semi-truck, agricultural or industrial equipment tires. Tires are required to be free of heavy accumulations of water or dirt, as this can seriously damage tire shredding equipment.
