Valedictorian Andrea Horton is the daughter of Jill Scatterday. Since her sophomore year, Andrea was dually enrolled with the University of Akron and Ohio University through College Credit Plus. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Culture Club, Art Club, Student Action Committee, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Staying Clean Club, Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy, Prom Planning Committee, and president of the Spanish Club. Andrea is a two-year member and letterman of the tennis team and band. In addition to being a four-year member and letterman of the swim team, she has also been a four-year OVAC qualifier, two-year OSHAA district qualifier, Buckeye 8 champion, and was most recently named to the All-Times Leader Swim Team and earned honorable mention in both the Girls 100 butterfly and the Girls 200 freestyle relay on the OHSAA All-East District Swim Team. Academically, Horton is an academic letterman, member of the OVAC All-Conference Academic Team, OHSAA All-East District Academic Team, Ohio High School Swimming Coaches Association Academic All-Ohio Award, and graduated with an honors diploma with additional honors seals of Student Engagement, Science, and Citizenship. Andrea is employed in her third year at Allen Pool as a certified American Red Cross lifeguard and lifeguard supervisor. She also instructs children’s swimming lessons and assists with the St. Clairsville Summer Swim League of which she is a ten-year member. Horton will attend Ohio University Eastern in the fall in the BSN nursing program.
