WHEELING — Heavy metal hitmakers are coming this October and December to WesBanco Arena.

Rock legend Alice Cooper will kick things off with a stop on his “Too Close For Comfort” tour Sunday, Oct. 8. Then, on Saturday, Dec. 2, Ice Nine Kills will co-headline with In This Moment on their “Kiss Of Death” tour with guests Avatar and New Year’s Day.

Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors.

Alice Cooper’s albums and singles are iconic in rock & roll — “School’s Out,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “I’m Eighteen,” “Billion Dollar Babies” and many more. In 1975, Cooper released his first solo album “Welcome to My Nightmare”, accompanied by the groundbreaking theatrical concert tour. He has produced six platinum albums both with his band and as a solo artist.

Ice Nine Kills mixes metal, hardcore, and punk, with accessible power and a fascination with fright and pop culture obsession. Loudwire hails ICE NINE KILLS as “one of the most unique acts in metal right now.” The band’s synergy of music and lifestyle draws favorable comparisons to Slipknot and Rob Zombie.

Since coming to life in 2005, In This Moment have produced a Gold-selling album, Blood [2012], plus six Gold and Platinum singles, followed by a trifecta of Top 25 entries on the Billboard Top 200 with Black Widow [2014] and Ritual [2017]. With a total stream tally well past 200 million as of 2020, Ritual elevated them to new creative and critical peaks as well.

Tickets for both concerts go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at WesBancoArena.com, calling 304-233-4470, or visiting the WesBanco Arena Box Office.
