Outback Motorsports to host derby, Neal McCoy

BEALLSVILLE — Outback Motorsports will host a demolition derby, truck pull and concert on Friday and Saturday.

The gates will open at noon with the demolition derby starting at 5 p.m. Friday. Music performances will follow starting at 8 p.m. Taylor Jo and the Copper Creek Band from Neffs will kick off the night with music from a variety of genres including country, rock, pop, blues and some original songs. Joe Nichols will end the night with both classic and modern country music. Nichols has been nominated for three Grammy nominations, and he has won a Country Music Association award and an Academy of Country Music Awards trophy.

On Saturday, gates open at 10 a.m., but the action will not start until 3 p.m. with the truck and tractor pull. The truck and tractor pull will include gas and diesel trucks as well as various types of tractors.

After the truck and tractor pull, Travis Denning will perform starting at 8 p.m. with Neal McCoy to follow.

Denning is a country singer and songwriter who has released gold and platinum albums. His album “After a Few” debuted in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Country Albums chart.

McCoy has released 15 studio albums on various labels and has released 34 singles to country radio. He has released multiple platinum-certified albums and number-one singles throughout his career. He is also the recipient of multiple humanitarian awards from The Academy of Country Music, The Country Radio Broadcasters and The Masonic Grand Lodge.

Concessions stands will be available at the site, and attendees can bring their own beer. Outback Motorsports asks that attendees do not bring glass bottles.

Bleachers and standing room will be available during the derby, truck pull and concert. People who attend the event can bring their own chairs.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate, at JLK Carryout LLC in Beallsville or online at tix.com. Those who purchase tickets online can request digital tickets or tickets to be printed. Those who buy tickets through tix.com will have to pay a service fee for each ticket.

A campsite will also be available. Campers can pull in as early as Wednesday and pull out on Sunday. The campsite will not have electricity or water, but campers can bring generators.

Truck and tractor pull drivers will meet at 2:30 Saturday. Drivers do not need to purchase tickets but must pay a hook fee.
