Plenty to see and do during Marshall County Fair

Fair week is July 23-29

MOUNDSVILLE — Carnival rides, live entertainment, animals shows and 4-H livestock exhibits are just a few of the entertainment options available during the Marshall County Fair, set for July 23-29 at the Marshall County Fairgrounds.

Daily entry into the fair is $10 or one can purchase a weekly pass for $50.

Senior citizens and veterans enter for free between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Children 12 years old and younger enter for free between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Some highlighted events include the ATV and Dirt Bike Drag at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23; the Queens Pageant at 6:30 p.m. and Antique Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 24; the start of carnival rides at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25; Rafter Z Rodeo at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26; the Truck and Tractor Pull at 8 p.m. Friday, July 28; and Demo Derby at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29.

Another popular event is the Tiny Tot Contest on Thursday, July 27; registration is at 9 a.m. and the contest begins at 10 a.m. The competition categories include Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Smile, Best Personality and Parent Look-A-Like. Children are divided into age categories.

There will also be plenty to eat from a variety of food vendors on site.

Sunday: 2 p.m. pet show with registration at 1 p.m.;

Monday: 8 a.m. 4-H Dog Show; 3:30 p.m. Junior King and Queen Contest; 6:15 p.m. Flag Raising Ceremony; 6:30 p.m. Queens Pageant; and 7 p.m. Antique Tractor Pull.

Tuesday: 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Teenie Weeny Circus; noon-8 p.m. STEM activities; noon, 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Amazing Trained Pig Show; noon Bingo; 6 p.m. Spurred to Victory show; 6:30 p.m. Carnival rides begin.

Wednesday: noon to 8 p.m. STEM activities; 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Teeny Weeny Circus; 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Amazing Pig Show; 4 p.m. Goat Dress Up Contest; 6:30 p.m. Carnival rides begin; 7 p.m. Kids Rodeo; and 8 p.m. Rodeo;

Thursday: 9:30 a.m. Kids’ Breakfast; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids 4H Fun; 10 a.m. Tiny Tot Contest; 10 a.m. Pop Up Farmers Market; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. STEM activities; 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Teeny Weenie Circus; 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Amazing Trained Pig Show; 6:30-10:30 p.m. Carnival rides; 7 p.m. Truck and Tractor Pulls.
