Bel-O-Mar proposes program changes
WHEELING — Bel-O-Mar Regional Council is proposing to revise the Fiscal Year 2024 – FY2027 Transportation Improvement Program.
Fiscal year programming is on a July 1 basis with FY2024 beginning July 1, 2023. Projects must be included in the local TIP and the state TIP to be eligible for federal funding. Bel-OMar is currently accepting public comments regarding the projects described below. The transit capital funding is generally 80% federal and 20% local.
As requested by the Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority (OVRTA), the following revisions are proposed:
Add the following capital projects for FY2024: Replace six under 30-foot buses at a total cost of $1,316,500; Replace 16 bus shelters at a cost of $117,136; Garage roof replacement and outer wall repairs at a total cost of $2,645,573; and A & E for the Nailers Way project at the Byrd Intermodal Center. The total phase cost is $500,000.
A public comment period regarding the proposed Transportation Improvement Program revision extends through Oct. 17.
