Fundraiser set for Belmont County’s cats

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Candace Fleagane with Belmont County Cat Stray Shun is holding a fundraiser for the cats at the Belmont County Animal Shelter who are in need of some expensive surgical procedures.
She noted one cat, Stubbs, needs a bulla osteotomy -- a total ear canal ablation -- and Tinker must have an enucleation, or eye removal. Another cat, Harlow, has already had her enucleation. They will be at the Ohio Valley Mall Center Court from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 4 for the fundraising event.
There will be several raffle baskets including four movie tickets and a tray of Dicarlo's Pizza, fall and Christmas wreaths and designer purses, as well as holiday decor to sell. They will have a tree with thank-you cards from Stubs and Tinker. Anyone making a $5 donation or purchase will receive a card to place on their tree or give to a loved one. A similar event was held last year, and Fleagane said it was very successful. Fleagane hopes to see the public out in full support of these animals.
