BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

At 4:50 a.m. Monday, deputies assisted officers from the Bellaire Police Department on a call at an address on Noble Street in Bellaire.

At 8:19 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Hammond Road, St. Clairsville, reported that her husband was intoxicated and violent. The male broke items inside the home, according to the caller, who said she got outside the home and into her car after her husband tried to grab her. Deputies met the complainant down the street. Officers said the complainant was uncooperative regarding a temporary protection order. Charges were expected to be filed for domestic violence, according to the report.

At 7:49 p.m. Sunday, a caller from Blaine-Chermont Road reported a suspicious person in the neighborhood. A strange man was walking around the complex, the caller stated. According to the report, windows to the complainant's residence were secured, and nobody suspicious was found in the area.

At 6:08 p.m. Sunday, an officer was out with an abandoned vehicle on Fairview Road, Barnesville. The vehicle reportedly had different front and back license plate numbers, but both came back to the same owner in Guernsey County. An officer requested that the vehicle be towed.

At 4:09 p.m. Sunday, central dispatch advised that the Ohio State Highway Patrol called about a suspicious person off of Interstate 70 exit 202. A vehicle was pulled over at this location, and a man dressed in camouflage got out and entered the woods with a long gun, according to the report. An officer checked the area but found nothing. It was noted that wild turkey season started Saturday.

At 7:14 p.m. Saturday, units responded to a report of domestic trouble at an address on Laura Drive in St. Clairsville. An estranged couple had been arguing all day, the report indicated. Officers spoke with both parties. There was nothing physical --just a verbal disagreement. They were to stay separated for the night, according to the report.

At 5:18 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported to central dispatch that there was an assault at an address on Willow Grove Road, St. Clairsville. A deputy spoke with both parties and gathered information to be sent to the prosecutor's office, the report stated.

At 3:31 p.m. Saturday, a caller from Red Roof Inn in St. Clairsville requested that officers remove individuals from a room. The subjects were being rude and making threats to other guests, and one may be carrying a firearm, according to the caller. Deputies made contact with the individuals, who were asked to leave. They did so without incident, according to the report, which stated that the firearm in question was a BB gun.
