ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Honky Tonk Sweethearts performed at Beacon House Senior Living in St. Clairsville on Thursday evening as part of the Christmas Tour that the group is on, spreading Christmas cheer at local senior centers and nursing homes.
The events are free and open to the community.
The Honky Tonk Sweethearts posted on their Facebook page, "We are certainly blessed to bring Christmas cheer to the elders in these communities."
Group members Joylene Garrison, Alice Rogers and Laurie Labishak sang country music hits to entertain the crowd. The group has performed at venues and events across the Ohio Valley for many years.
Local businesses each sponsored a show for the Christmas tour. Jarvis Law Office sponsored Thursday's performance.
Kerri Kanyuch, care navigator with Jarvis Law, said that Jarvis is an elder care law firm.
"We wanted to give back to the community," she said.
Jarvis Law also gave a short presentation before the performance to inform attendees about important documents to have in place for loved ones such as medical power of attorney documents. Attendees each took home a folder with more information about the documents and the services that Jarvis Law offers.
Jarvis Law also provided door prizes at the performance.
Other sponsors for the Christmas tour include Right at Home North Central-WV and Upper Ohio Valley Regions, Apollo Professional Cleaning and Restoration, Anthony and Tara Dzvonick-Mougianis, Unified Bank, Walker Consulting LLC, WVU Medicine-Reynolds Memorial Hospital and Dr. Fausto Lazo.

Their next performance was at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Prime Time Senior Center in Steubenville. The group will also perform at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Brightwood Nursing Home in Follansbee, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Senior Suites Assisted Living in St. Clairsville and at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Moundsville Healthcare Center.
