Beach Boys ‘Endless Summer Gold 2024’ tour to stop in Wheeling

WHEELING — The Beach Boys, icons of the surf rock sound and authors of some of the most beloved songs in American rock history, will include Wheeling’s Capitol Theatre among the stops on their “Endless Summer Gold 2024” tour.
The band will play the Capitol Theatre on Sept. 21. A pre-sale event will be held from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday (password: CAPITOL), with tickets going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday.

Founding member and lead singer and lyricist Mike Love will lead the band with longtime member Bruce Johnston, as well as Brian Eichenberger, Christian Love, Tim Bonhomme, Jon Bolton, Keith Hubacher, Randy Leago and John Wedemeyer.
Founded in Hawthorne, California, in 1961, the Beach Boys pioneered the surf rock sound. Since releasing “Surfin’ Safari” in 1962, the band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and charted more than 80 songs chart worldwide, 36 of them in the US Top 40 – the most by a US rock band. Four songs topped the Billboard Hot 100.
Among the band’s discography is the legendary album “Pet Sounds,” which Rolling Stone ranked No. 2 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Among the songs on that album are “God Only Knows,” “Sloop John B,” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.”
The Beach Boys are No. 12 on the magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and are recipients of a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award.
