Man shot in the face on I-470 in Pultney Township

BELLAIRE — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s St. Clairsville Post is investigating a shooting that occurred on Interstate 470 in Pultney Township.

The patrol was dispatched following a 911 phone call placed at approximately 10:37 p.m. Tuesday. The call reported that a driver of a commercial truck had been shot near mile marker 3 on the westbound side of travel.

The victim, Michael Brundage of Ellenboro, West Virginia, was discovered by troopers to have sustained a gunshot wound to the face. Emergency medical services were contacted.

Troopers continued to provide aid to the victim until EMS arrived at the scene. The victim was transported by EMS to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling for further treatment. The victim was alert and conscious at the time of his transport from the scene, according to the patrol.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Cambridge District Office of Criminal Investigations responded to the scene to assist the St. Clairsville post and investigate the shooting.

Also assisting the St. Clairsville Post at the scene was the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office and Neffs first responders.

The shooting remains under investigation.
