SHADYSIDE — The village recently received notification of two grant awards related to water infrastructure improvements.

The Ohio Public Works Commission awarded the village $172,500 for engineering costs and repairs to the foundation of the 40th Street water tower.

The village also applied for additional funding for this water tower project through the Ohio Department of Development.

Village Administrator Erica Tamburin said this is positive news.

“This announcement will determine the course and extent of Shadyside’s Water Tower Project,” she said.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency also awarded Shadyside $9,663 for water leak detection and locator equipment.

“We are thankful for these two grant opportunities,” Tamburin said. “The equipment will help the water department be more efficient and effective in locating leaks and locating the waterlines in the water system.”
